:It makes it shift quicker! You do not have that big of a delay between gear changes. Therefore the quicker it shifts the quicker it will go. It will not rob horsepower. Has far has gears go, once again you need to decide what you want of your car. The higher gear will get the rpm's up quicker and it will change your cruising rpm. So if you are planning on a quick 0-60mph time you need the gear, but the sacrafice is higher rpm when cruising down the interstate. 3.50 is a good gear for street rods. It allows you to have good exelaration and a decent highway rpm.
: I have heard that the shift kit makes the tranny shift harder. How would that help, would it not robb power from the engine during shifting? Also with the rear end, if I put a 3.50 rear end (as apose to my 2.50 differential) wouldn't that make my engine reved up higher at high speeds? I know my 1/4 would be a lot better but I dont know about say 110+ mph. |
