::$225 plus shipping is way to high in my opnion for a used bumper that needs plating. Keep looking around....and look in Hemmings as well.
:: ::Also, join the Maverick/Comet Club. They are a big help in finding parts. : :I did already send in my application to the club. As for the price, I agree. Desert Valley in Arizona wants $225 + freight and he says right up-front that they can only guarantee that it will be rust free. There's a salvage yard here that gets Southern and Western parts and he wants $250 with the same disclaimer. I got a couple prices on rechroming and I'm still in shock! I'm having a lot of trouble finding bumpers for the car. The rear is shot, but the front can be rechromed if there is such a place that doesn't charge an arm, leg, and a private part to do it! All the salvage yards around here must have sent their Mavericks to the crusher long ago. I'll be honest with you all.. other than the new fenders which aren't outrageous (except the freight which is), what I'm finding on stuff like the bumpers is a bit discouraging, especially when you're on a "shoestring" budget like I am. My first venture into restoring a car is quite an "eye opener". I never fooled myself into thinking it wouldn't cost anything, but what I'm finding out is something else. You'd think we are buying parts for a Ferrari or something! |
