In Texas if the car is registered in your name you can get a dupliate title certificate for a small fee, just by proving who you are. I lost the key to a safety deposit box and have sold 2 cars since, even though I don't have the original title! (The locksmith fee would cost more)! You'll just have to see what is necessary for your state. Good luck -Doug

:thanks for the info for decoding. What i really need is info to get a duplicate title, cause the original burnt in a house fire a few years back, and since i was restoring the car, i wasn't too concerned then.now i'm in desperate need. the car was last licsensed in 1979. thanks for any help!!
