As for the outer pads, i wish there were clips! I assume you're getting the same horrible rattling that i was getting...the best solution i've found is to pick up some Permatex squeal stop, i don't recall its actual name, but you get two silver packages for $1.99. It basically glues the pad to the caliper and dries as a plastic that won't allow pads to rattle.
