hey, Jimmy, sounds to me like you might have a stopped up catalytic converter or muffler. Thats the only thing I can think of that will cause the manifold to glow. Our work truck (a dodge...imagine that) did the same thing, and the cat was plugged. Try disconnecting the pipe from the manifold and see if it runs any better.
