burn out and then pre-stage, then wait for the other guy ( or gal) to pre-stage. Then stage, always make sure both cars are pre-staged before you stage, that way the other person does not feel rushed, sometimes you race a faster car that wants to get the car to a certain temp. or something like that, so be patient. When the last yellow flashes, punch it! At the other end of the track, depending which side the turn-off road is, customary for the car in that lane to turn off first. Most tracks have 2 or more turn-offs. But if you are racing a rocket, then he or she will probably pass the 1st. So use your judgement. Never ever cross lanes until you KNOW for sure that the car in the other lane has turned off or is well past you. But you need to get off the track as quickly and as "SAFELY" as possible. Be careful, have fun, and just maybe, you will catch the bug!! Like I did.
1 more thing: Always watch the track officials they are the boss!
