Well, I have finally got the motivation to go to the track to see what my little blue mav will run. The engine is almost shot and I finally have the money to rebuild it so if it goes it's okay. I have to admit I am a bit scared. I have been to Los Angeles County Raceway (LACR) a few times with my boyfriend but it's just not the same when you will actually be driving. I was just wondering if any of you had any tips or words of wisdom. I will be leaving tomorrow at around 5:00pm pacific time so say a little prayer. By the way the car is bascially stock, performance exhaust, coil, and plug wires. Thanks! Wish me luck

jerilyn, good luck on your first time, don,t worry about making mistakes. we've all been there, done that. laugh at yourself and learn from it. i won't tell you all the screw ups i've done. don't try to remember everything you've been told here. i'm not knocking at. there was some good info, but different tracks have different rules such as which side the numbers go on the car, l also which way the lanes are numbered. watch what others do, especially any other cars in your class. if you don't feel comfortable doing a burnout yet or you have street tires on you can drive around the water box. if you don't have positraction or spool, then only one tire will spin and the other will stay wet. if you take anything away from these remarks it should be this. pay attention to what you are doing, watch the starting line officials, know where your turnoff and your opponent is and have a ball. it's not hard to get hooked.
