What brand of strut rod bushings do you use? Nothing looks like an OE replacement, more like a universal fit.

I have never used them, but MOOG sells replacement bushings #K8157

Napa looks the best, but there is no warranty. Excludes normal usage.

I installed NAPA bushings, and yes, they don't look like the OEM. The guy at the parts counter claimed they are an improved version over the O.E. I have no idea if it's true or not.

Ok, sounds dumb, but how did you install them? Which way was the bushing?

I found 1991 Thunderbird Strut rod bushing. Inner Diameter is .90 inches (per Rock Auto)

1977 Maverick Inner Diameter is .94 inches. (per Rock Auto)

What does 1991 Thunderbirds have to do with anything?

If I remember correctly, they are the same on both ends, so it doesn't matter. The OEM bushings are not the same at both ends.

    Cross-referencing and parts interchangeability.

Just do NOT install urethane bushings in the strut rods. Rubber only. Use Urethane and you will not be a happy camper when the strut rods break.

I've never heard anything about that kind, only Urethane. Do a search on the classic Stang forums on Urethane strut rod bushings, you'll find many instances of the rods breaking with the use of them. I would do a search on thermoplastic bushings as well before using them on strut rods.

Moog for all my front end parts. Strut rod bushings fit perfect.
