    Hello, I previously posted this:
"I have a '71 Maverick, 200 engine, C4 automatic trans. Well, its leaks are getting prominent. It's never been overhauled (as far as I know), has some 128,000 on it. On a scale of 1 to 10, with ten being, 'Aaaack! Don't even think about it!', how hard is it to rebuild?"

I've decided that I'm pretty sure I can do the job with the George Reid C4 book in hand. But here's the big question: How high does the car have to be to get the transmission out? Also, about how heavy is the trans?

I know there are some specific tools needed for the job, any idea where I can get them?

Are there American-made torque converts made for it? Are the rebuild parts kit made here?

Thank you all for your advice!

    Bye,
    Renton5

At least 2 feet high, and they are heavy when you are laying on the floor. Other than that, shop around.
