Also, where did you get it? The interior coloring is the same as my 72 Comet. I may see if some of your stipped out parts work for me - aside from the engine we have already discussed
If you need some help tearing it apart. I'm over in Va. Beach. How bad is the driver's door. Mine is trashed.
I didn't realize it was blue. Looks white on my computer. I also should have said that vinyl top cars did have chrome drip rail moldings. The light blue GT's would have blue interior. Sorry for not making it clearer.
It is the same color combo (Pastel Blue/Black stripes) as the guy from NY had this year at the All-Ford Nationals in Carlisle.
Good it isn't a one of one, I don't feel bad about killing it, though it is a mercy killing as much as ravaging it for parts... After a better look, the front fenders, grille and maybe hood have been replaced... Radiator support is a little wrinkled on left side from a front-ender(I already knew it had been hit in LR)... That may explain the guards on bumpers, likely both front & rear are salvage yard pieces, otherwise those guards don't mesh with it's basic stripper nature... Best I can tell, seems to have only the 200, C4 trans(required the 200, auto was NA with 170) and radio for options... Anyone know if the floor shift was std or opt in Comet GT??? It's real bad, lower two/three inches is mostly consumed with rust... I'll get pict in next few days...
Floor shift was standard on the Comet GT. **Edit** After seeing an original window sticker and Marti Report for a '73 Comet GT showing floor shifter as an option I guess I'm incorrect. Every Comet GT that I have ever seen has had a floor shifter in it, but I guess they were ordered that way.
Thanks... Unlike the bucket seats, none of the info I've seen listed floor shifter as std, was fairly sure it was optional...
Floor shifter was an option. I bought a new 71 Comet GT and the order form said floor shifter optional. I didn't want a column shifter so I orderd it.
