A few years ago, I found a consolette. I also tracked down an NOS clock and had a harness made to plug it in as original. I have a lot of Dynamat under my carpet but I suspect this is not causing my problem. Yesterday, I went to install the consolette. It does not appear to fit in with the original automatic floor shifter that I added. It appears as though the consolette is about an inch and a half too long and is running into the shifter. Even without the added padding. I don’t think the consolette can go any further towards the firewall to make it fit. I’m curious, does anyone have or has anyone ever seen a floor shift car with a consolette? Thanks, Micah PS: No, it’s not for sale.
It was my understanding that they did not fit with floor shifter but I am sure someone has made one fit
That is the same problem I ran into. Thanks for the confirmation. I was really looking forward to fitting the consolette. It would have been nice to have a place to put something and not have it roll around. I also planned to put my electric trunk release switch in there. Oh, well. Micah
Has anyone tried a console from a Granada? I just picked one up at a local Pick A part but have not had time to try it since my car is covered up outside for a bit.
Yes, they work. A fellow member local to me has one in his Grabber Clone with bucket seats. They look very nice.
I like them but with my V-Gate shifter being off set to the left on the tunnel it just wouldn't look right
Mel, I have a console out of a Lincoln Versailles ... same as Granada, but wrapped in leather. It is good but it was some work to get my shifter to fit, due more to having a Pinto shifter, and non-stock mounting.
You may want to look at these early 70's mini consoles if you need something to put some loose change into or small items.
It's a 71-73 mustang mini console. I paid $30 I think from ebay and its a sturdy piece. They show up at a reasonable price.
Captain-I have the Granada/Versailles console already. Does anyone think my T5 five speed that I just got will work in it? Anyone had experience doing this?
