I used a satin blk chassis paint on mine to help with spilling gas and followed the original line.

 

Satin will absorb gasoline more easily than a gloss clear-coat would.

 

I guess I'll find out, I'm not a fan of gloss black tail panels.

 

I really wanted to paint mine gloss for the gas reason also , but I like the look of the satin better too, just have to be more careful putting gas in I guess .
