So i replaced headgasket on 71 comet with 250 inline 6. I think i have connected the vacume hoses wrong cause they dont look right. so can someone link a diagram or take a picture of the vacume hoses coming out of exaust manifold. has 3 little hoses coming out. JUST want to see how other engines havw them and make sure mine are correct. THANKS
This is very helpful. but i do rember one went to some sort of connection on top of thermostat housing and then going to the a/c switches
Are you sure it's not the intake? The port on the left goes to the automatic transmission...the one on the right goes to the vacuum switch on the heater hose nipple.
Wow feel dumb now. its the one on the intake with the 3 hoses. but my carb doesnt have the big adaptor thing. ill upload some pictures of mine. but yeah where do the tubes go i got the transmission one and the last 2?
Mr. Thomas: I've been noticing your responses to a lot of assorted questions regarding Maverick or Comet information needed and it seems you Always Come Through with a diagram or link that helps out . You Sir .. are a wealth of information and I for one appreciate your presence. Glad you're making yourself available for assistance to us out here that sometimes require important information . By the way MERRY CHRISTMAS Cometized (Chip)
The big adapter thing is the EGR that came out in '73...the pic is my '74. I just now notice you live in California. The emission system there are different than the other 49 states and got different parts and pieces. You could thumb through this link to see if anything looks like what you have on your Comet http://1bad6t.com/Maverick/repair/emission.html
So one goes to trans. one seems to go to some sort of container all the way to the bottom not the charcole canister. and one goes to some conection ontop of thermostat which then goes to the 2 ac tubes. Does that look correct?
