So took the car on its first distance Cruz since the aluminum radiator and electric fan mod. 3 row champion, 2800cfm fan. 140amp alt. New thermostat 185, temp sensor turns fan on at 185/175. The car was doing great, temp holding at 185 doing 65. Then after 30 miles temp rose to 200-205. Fan constantly on not dropping temp. Made it to the store 45miles total. Shut the car off and timed it. Fan shut off alil under 10mins with car off.. the fan I have is the biggest one I could get to fit with no interference. So I think I need to run a pusher fan on the front to help. Any suggestion. No a Taurus fan won't fit.

At highway speeds, there is enough air flow that the fan really does not do too much, I would suggest looking at possible blockage? Seeing how everything was fine for 30 miles, maybe something dislodged within your cooling system and blocked the flow? As you mentioned it was the first test drive after installing new radiator? Fan belt loose? (belt driving water pump......)

I can drive from my house to Summit (45 miles) before the fan comes on at 186 degrees. check and see if the T-stat stuck closed or part way closed. how did it do on the return trip?

did you make sure to get rid of all the air bubbles from your cooling system? I have had a similar experience in the past... drove the car for 30 minutes when it suddenly spiked in temp at 60 mph. Had to pull over and let it cool down.

As the other members state, your issue is not the fan!!!

Are sure a Taurus fan will NOT fit ??????? Did you trim the shroud ????? Did you turn the fan upside down to clear the water pump ????? Did you cut the water pump shaft flush with the pulley ???? Did you counter sink the water pump pulley bolts into the pulley and use counter sink Allen cap screws ???? I Did and I have the same set up as you ...

And my Taurus fan will keep mine almost to cool .... Also I would check your T stat you could have a bad one

Taurus fan here, too. I didn't do any of the above. I just slotted the motor mount bolt holes and moved the engine back 3/8". It fit without doing that but the fan motor was close to the water pump, 1/4" or so. Now I have plenty of room, and I'm running a large X huge Griffin aluminum radiator.

A pusher fan will block air flow through the radiator. I would check to see if the lower radiator hose is collapsing. Does it have a spring in it?

With the 3 row champion I couldnt get my Taurus fan to fit either. Its tight with their fan shroud and fan also. Wondering if you have a lower hose collapsing under rpm?

If the car did not have an issue b4 the electric fan, unlikely hose is collapsing now. Do you have a shroud or is the fan just affixed to radiator? After I fabbed a shroud for my setup, made a difference in efficiency.

I am using their fan and shroud. Its about a quarter inch away from hitting the bolt on the water pump pulley.

Id consider the Taurus fan. but two things. I dont think I have the clearance even if I flip it upside down. 2. I dont wanna change my relay wiring by adding 2 speed.

Are you still using the champion then or did you change radiators?
