Not much luck wanted skinny in front so now thinking fiberglass front and rear any thoughts on this. I found a few places online but has anybody have any experience with who I should try to stay away or l may try..
    Thank you

Obviously, you are limited to what is available, but chrome bumpers look far better on Mavericks/Comets than painted fiberglass.

Yes I agree but not having much luck with out killing the budget. Just trying get parts and resources together. So I'm a little ahead of the game on finding stuff for our cars.

Street car = NO fiberglass bumpers.

say wuuuttt? Ton's of composite parts on cars these days. Course, comparing OEM quality composites to these cheapy molded parts using crappy polyester resins is really no comparison at all.

Point is, lighter is almost always better and I hope to make almost half of my Comet's sheet metal in glass and carbon fiber when I finally reach "race stage" years down the road. Of greater interest to me when it comes to bumper weight is fabbing the brackets out of aluminum or carbon fiber since they're almost as heavy as the bumper itself. lol

I am thinking of a safety standpoint.

I was more or less just razzin' ya, Craig. In all seriousness though, seems doubtful that there is very much difference in crash protection between the steel vs glass designs for any small bumper cars made before '73. And who know's, maybe the glass version does less damage when it shatters vs steel that just folds back and upwards on the brackets to end up in the grill?

Yeah, not saying anyone is wrong here, but I really doubt there is much "crash protection" with the '70-'72 bumpers. Obviously '73-'77 would a different story.

I'm just to figure out bumpers for my 73. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe rear bumper is the same as the earlier models. The front was the first of large bumpers. I still like chrome bumpers but when find them they are expensive after buying shipping and getting rechromed. I would prefer small bumper in front.

I'm sorry if there was some confusion. I'm looking for small bumper for front and maybe one for rear if can't be cleaned up.
    Thank you I appreciate tgeary
