    I have a 74 Mercury Comet and I have questions about this car some thing I know about it but there are things like the gt comet and other upgrade level interior packages I never new about could some one enlighten me on some Ford Mercury noleg and where to find floor pans quarter panel interior

    Welcome from Portland, OR. My Interior was blue originally, and the previous owner painted it black. I am not the one to tell you what should be in the interior, BUT I will tell you that in '74 the seat belt bolts for the front seats were moved forward and the seat belt (buckle side) goes through the seat bottom. If you use a front bench from an earlier year, the seat bottom will not have the passage for the belt. Also, '74 was the only year for a seat belt system that incorporated a yellow box and seat belt sensors that would defeat the starter if it sensed a unbuckled belt in a occupied seat. there are ways to defeat the box, but you should know about it. Thats my 2 cents.
