Starting to doubt the note on the instructions saying front of the car is in fact the front of the car on the opposite side of the page it shows a original "front" lock nut. May have to disassemble and rethink this.

Per the instructions, they are definitely backwards. Install as per diagram and forget what's stamped on them.

Front of car is to right...

I've installed two sets & have a third waiting for my Fairlane.

Thanks for hanging in there with me. Going to take it apart and put it back together the way you have it. The rear washer still doesnt cup the bushing. The instructions leave a few questions but the way you assembled it makes more sense. And thanks to Eric, Tom, and Everett for making me take a second look.

Yeah, the light came on that the word "Front" didnt designate the front of the car but rather pointing to the direction of the front of the car but was printed on the instructions where the back of the car is. The crown nut and cotter pin option along with Ikes pictures confirm it. You have a Fairlane? My first car was a 67 comet. but I liked the looks of the fairlane better. Just finished up a 2009 gt to 2009 mach 1 tribute, doing some much needed Maverick work then on to The Trans am. The projects are lined up in the back yard. I wish, its a 1977 Toyota celica GT 1977_toyota_celica_gt_liftback_5_speed_m-1578305344-848-e.jpg One of these days
The Blue is called Voodoo Blue from Toyota's FJ Cruiser. Close to Grabber Blue, a little darker.
This is a 76 Stallion I Grabberized it to remind me of my Maverick in 1979. mav74.jpeg Good luck with yours. Bite the bullet and just do it or your project quickly becomes 10 years running and being sold to someone else to finish.
