Repaired the driver's side front foor pan. Used an old steel door I had been saving for just this kind of thing. https://photos.app.goo.gl/RJasa8Fw8ALb9Zjs7
Don't know what happened there but here's the latest pics I have. I cut the open on the ends of the subframes welded in the subframe connectors, then closed them up and welded them. So they are up inside the back foot wells. They are not finished yet but close, still have to replace the metal under the back seat on both sides.
that's a lot of rusted floor pan, did you find the water issue that caused it? I had one spot on the pass side, it was from a leaking heater core.
Good wintery day, looks like you did a good job patching floor area. I got one floor area to repair also . I was thinking of doing a flat sheet metal repair like you did. I have an area on my roof after removing vinyl that needs a (wire mesh) repair. Iam now retired, so iam just now getting started with my 71 comet restoration. Any info on (how to,s ) be appreciated.
NICE ! , purists will shiver at the pics but 'glad to know another Maverick is - RESCUED for the ROAD... . the subframe / connector work upgrades are important in older (rusty) unibody's that have been around the block a few... . simple effective upgrade . . . . have fun
