My 1970 Maverick Is White With A Dark Red Interior, Except The Tray Under The Dash, Which Is Black. I Have Seen Dozens Of Mavericks And Owned Three Myself, And Every Tray That I Remember Was Black. Are They Supposed To Be Painted Or Dyed To Match The Interior?
    Thanks,
    Stuart

    Good Question

I have been paying attention to that detail myself. I am about to change the interior color on a '69.5 from light gold to blue. I have found black and other colors matching the interior. The tray itself seems to be black, but ther front edge can be a different color.

    They only come in black.

The front edge is a different color if is has the LDO trim piece snapped on the front.

It's interesting that the two blue dash tray pictures posted by Seth (littleredtoy) are both out of a 1969 1/2 car. I would be curious how they ended up blue.

I have a couple non-AC LDO trays if anyone is interested ...

    LDO huh?

I didn't realize that the LDO package had a piece on the lower dash that was different. The first pic is probably a poor example to represent as original. Note the blue paint on the bright ashtray handle. They may have painted the entire dash.

As for the LDO package. I thought those saddle brown buckets were original to the car in the pic. No black dash so assumedly not a Grabber/GT, but you see woodgrain door panels. Is that not the LDO appearance?

I have a pic of an all black dash including the instrument panel, ala GT/Grabber. But I don't think the car is either. Edit: I can't find it. Perhaps it's not original.

High-Back Bucket seats always came with deluxe door panels ... that is why that car has wood-grain panels ...

    All LDO's ... including 1972 LDO's .... had LDO buckets and LDO door panels. Also ... All LDO's ... including 1972 LDO's ... had 73-77 style armrests ...

The front edge of the one on my 69 1/2 is also blue.

    I was hoping...

.....for the interior in the '69 to favor this pic:

I will have to check to see if the lower package
tray can be made to look this way.

The interior will be sort of medium blue metallic.
I have not determined if I will use a blue or black
steering wheel. I have a nice black steering wheel.
I would have to dye/paint one to go blue.

Interior upholstery kit will have to be modified for
the back, fronts will work fine with the buckets
    that I have.

I have a perfect a/c under dash tray, but now i need a non a/c under dash tray. I am interested if you still have one. Let me know what kind of shape it is in and how much. Also, I no longer need the a/c tray, so if anyone is interested, let me know.
    Thanks, stuart
