Just a side note to this... Frank (71gold) and I have determined that the early 69.5 -70 or71 seem to be a lower rate (less stiff ) than the later 6 cyl springs. On his `73 and on others we`ve seen the car actually sat HIGHER in the front after doing a 6 cyl. to V-8 swap ! But The springs from an early 6 cyl. car will lower the front end of a Factory V-8 CAR . Also. I believe that the REAR leafs from a 4 door v-8 car are stronger than the 2 door springs. I bought a 1972 v-8 4 door A/C car to part out and I noticed that it sat pretty high the rear compared to most stock 2 door cars. I swapped the springs from the 4 door into my `72 Grabber and it raised the rear of my car to where it is now ,and the car seems to be a little stiffer in the rear now. My old springs were flat looking when you looked under the car at them (may be from years of Air shock usage ??) And the 4 door springs have more of an arch.
ill add to that , my 250 6 cyl sat decient but since putting it on the ground it sits exactly the same if not higher now granted its been on jackstands for awhile but still sits pretty high edit: mine is a 75
Yes Jims car is great looking, glad I finally got mine to sit like that! This is mine with 90/10's and 1 3/4 off the stock 302 springs. But jims still reminds me of "I love you, you love me......" couldnt help it Jim!! Todd
