I'm about the pull the trigger on some subframe connectors.

Competition Engineering CEE-3040 that weld through the floor pans. Since I'm replacing my floors, I thought, what the hell. These are the '65-'73 stang connectors, so they should also fit my maverick right? I need some advise. They're $89.95 in the summit catalog, and that's about as good as I've seen so far. Thanks for the help guys!

Being a proffesionall arsehole myself, I'll say that spending ninety bucks on two straight bits of squarestock with brtackets welded on that you'll have to cut off would be a folley. Go find a local drag racer with a bit of fabrication ability and a drive on lift (like an exhaust guy) and have him build you some. Might cost you a couple bucks more than those ones, but they will be on you car for a few dollars more than having those in your living room.

Actually....I should be given a Doctorate degree. I've got it down to a science.

There is bound to be a decent fabricator in your area who can do this type of work. Ask around a local race track or speed shop.

That's the way I built mine about 15 years ago. Moved the springs in, built a rear spring crossmember too. Was able to put 28x10.50 under it AND lower it a couple on inches. Chopped about 3/4" off each stock 8" axle, and narrowed a 9" housing for it. The car is now a chassis car, so no pics available, except from the side, no construction views. You can use the Stang ones (I bet) just cut the front to fit. I just put some through the floors on my 71 Grabber, but didn't move the springs in this time. Square tubing is cheap, and my floors were in trouble, so it really helped being able to weld the connectors to the floor, and replace the "missing" floor pan.

Well, our race track is currently under a couple inches of snow, so no dice there. You southerners are spoiled with your nice weather. ;)

I have more time than money though, so any work I can do myself I will. Plus, I like doing my own work too. I hate to farm stuff out if I can absolutely avoid it.

I had heard in the past that the CE connectors had the same PN for mavericks and mustangs, and I was just trying to confirm that.

Any pics with your comp eng connectors would be much appreciated.

Adam, just build your own man it's easy and cheap. I used 2x3 req tubing for mine. If you lay it flat so the 2" is the height it wont stick up in the floor pans so much or out from under the car. All you have to do is notch the front to wrap around the front subframe and you got yourself some connectors. If you need some pics of mine let me know.
