My daughter's (and mine (y)) recently acquired Maverick is in need of new feet. Though the tread is good, they are cracking. I looked in the owner's manual (it was still in the glove box) and it said to stay with the original size tires, but never gets around to saying what that was.

Currently the rear tires are 215 R14's and the front are 205's. I'd like to go with the original height to avoid speedometer inaccuracies in LG's (Little Girl) car. I have not had a chance to check the speedometer with the current tires.

Anybody know what this baby started with?

I really like the custom mags the previous owner put on it!

Look at sticker in door jam. Will tell you original tires and pressure information.

OK, I guess I overlooked that when I wrote down the rest of the info from the VIN sticker.

    Thanks.

I just looked at my sticker and it says for the 2 door cars with an inline 6 or a 302 non A/C could be as small as 6.45-14s and optional sizes were C78-14, D70-14, D78-14 ER78-14 or 185-14. Two door cars with 302 and A/C standard tire was C78-14 and Grabbers (all) were D70-14, these had the same optional tire sizes plus DR78-14 as above. My car is a 74 2 Door factory V8 and the previous owner ran 195-75-R14's on the factory steel wheels. Speedo accuracy I never checked. It now sports Cragar S/S's 15x6's and 15x8's with 215-70-R15 and 245-60-R15's front/rear respectively. I have driven by many of the roadside speed indicating signs and it is as close to being spot on as I can stand it. Actually closer than my 04 Yukon with factory tires.

Oh, yeah, killer wheels on your LG's ride, I love that look.
