I know how you feel, Dan. Got my 77' Maverick out of the winter mothballs and gave it a good run last weekend. It was the first time it had been out on the road since just before Christmas. Man, what a sweet feeling it was letting the ole' Maverick stretch it's legs after a long winter's rest.
Who can afford to put their cars in storage for the winter? All the Maverick and Comet owners I know drive them almost every day. I know I have to drive mine. It makes it harder to work on it but then I have a Mustang that I am working on (once again) after a long time out. I also work on the Mavericks but just a little at a time.
i dont drive mine all the time.. i have a daily driver for that. my 2000 cherokee, it has AC and power steering and much better gas mileage.
For us older folks, it IS like being a kid again...man I love windin those motors up....you go Dan... matter of fact I'm gonna wind one up to about 8 grand this afternoon
Hi Dan and happy 18th again. Had mine out for 2 weeks now, but have had the heat on driving to work on the days it wasn't goin to rain. At 4 am its still a little cool and the neibours don't mind the noise. My daughter says I'm like a little kid with a new toy when I'm out in the MAV. Isn't it great. have fun Dan.
