Kewl so she does post here? I know I seen her car on MaverickMan's website but I didn't know she posted here. I think it's great that a young lady would be interested in an older car liek that. I too hope she is ok and I hope she gets her car fixed back the way it was. I also just noticed that you are from Wyoming. If you don't mind answering what is the Maverick population/condition like out there? I have 23 acres in Helena Montana and plan to move out there in the next 5-10 years HOPEFULLY!!!! I seen a couple of nice Mavericks out in Montana when I was out there last time 2 years ago. I was kind of suprised that with all the snow Montana gets that the Mavericks that I seen were actually in really good shape and not all rusted out
The top pictures are from the PoBoy's Cruise-in in Canton, GA. I saw that car up there last year on a flatbed before it was restored. I hadn't seen it in person after the restoration. Looks like somebody is in the market for an NOS 1/4 panel .... damn woman drivers ...
Yeah, I talked to her a few weeks ago about the car. I told when she was ready to get it fixed to let me know. I would help her get hooked up with some of the Ga guys for some free parts!!! Now come on guys...don't tell me you're gonna charge that pretty little girl for some decent parts up there. Don't MAKE me come up there now!
I remember when I first saw her ... she was bending down and looking at the undercarriage of another Comet that was at the cruise-in ... I almost sprained my neck gawking ... and I think her Dad caught me checking her out ... although we did have a nice Maverick/Comet chat after the incident ... I'd help her out ... no problem.
First of all, you don't gawk at a girl who is the age of your daughters or girls under 18 or girls that are of the age that it could have been possible for you to have a daughter that age. Second, you don't do it while her dad is around. Third, date night happens to be same night I clean my guns. Another effective thing I've done is to take the young man into the basement show him "how to work out on the heavy bag." When a skinny 17-18 year old olds the heavy bag (70 lbs.) and you hit hard enough to knock him across the room, he gets the idea. Bill Engvall's line, "I've been in jail before, I don't mind going back," is pretty effective, too. Ray, when my collection of parts becomes a car and if my daughter wrecks it, she won't get any free parts from me and neither will this little girl. Lessons to be learned are more important than scoring brownie points.
I saw the car at Silver Springs in FL. Damn shame. How do you know it was her fault? Of course, if she's anything like my 2 daughters, it probably is.
Come on now Terry ... I know you getting up there in the years ... but when you come around the corner and see a shapely young lass from behind ... the gawking comes before your brain as any time to speculate on age ...
Mavericks/Comets are pretty thin out here. We get quite a bit of snow here too,but they don't use salt on the roads. Most salvage yard cars from here are rust-free. I've counted 9 members and I know of a few more. I alone have 4 cars, not sure what everyone else has
