Sorry, but this is just something that I wonder about. Were wheel lip mouldings an ordered option or part of a package? Are there any years that did not have holes drilled for them?
    Thanks as always!

Sorry, Hawkco, I had to ask anyways....

Well...you are a female. I don't mean that in a negative way. It's just that y'all are more curious than men.

If a buddy tells me he lost his job, I say, "I'm sorry to hear that. Let me know if I can do anything to help." I go home and tell my wife that so-in-so lost his job.

"Was he laid off or fired? Is his company downsizing? Has he found another one? Will he and (his wife) be all right? Was there something screwy going on? I bet it was that new boss he was telling us about, wasn't it? I wonder if had anything to do with that surgery three years ago?"

When I say, "I dunno. I didn't ask." I get, "Why didn't you. I need to call (his wife).

Uh...isn't that how it works Terry??? I can't tell you how many times I've been in that same situation with new children. I find out if it's a boy or girl and that's about it. I don't ask names, weights, times...it must be a guy thing! Anyhow I digress...my Maverick has the holes but no trim, but it has been repainted and they could have been removed. Although they don't look like they've had screws in them. Ok, so I'm just muddying the waters...

"If you don't ask questions, you don't learn." That's something my late Mother used to tell me. Maybe that's why us women ask so many questions. We want to learn. That could also explain why we actually READ instruction manuals before we try to operate something new.;) :D Anyway, back to the original topic. I think a Maverick or Comet could be ordered with or without the wheel opening moldings, but the fenders were all stamped with the screw holes none the less. I'm not too sure if reproduction fenders had the holes or not.

Jean, I need a little edchumacation here. All I know about body work is that I can spot rust and I can tell whether or not a car has a body. When you say "stamped with screw holes," does that mean that the original fenders came with "dimples" that could be drilled out if needed or do you mean they all came with the holes already "drilled?" I believe the answer to that question will answer the first question.

So, why did he lose his job? Were they okay?

Really the main area that I am bad about asking why and specific questions is when is has to do with cars, especially the Mavericks. Someone eventually has an answer for me, sometimes it just takes a while to find the right person that eventually has the full answer that I was looking for(although if side marker lights are supposed to blink still has me troubled).

Thanks for the answers on this one!

I have found that the cars already had the holes drilled or stamped into the (4) wheel openings....whether that car had the moldings or not. My 1970 Grabber was that way, as well as my orange 1972 Grabber.

Craig beat me to it:tiphat:. I didn't word my answer correctly. I should have said that the fenders were stamped and the screw holes pre-drilled or punched into them. Sorry for the confusion.:sorry:

    holes

All fenders had them drilled at the start. This way depending on the options ordered they could just put he trim on. The trim was part of an "Appearence" package.
