i did a thread on this a while back... if i can find it i will bring it back up... Terry had a good link at the time... Frank
if you need a new one anyway its a good deal then. i just didnt think there would be much to gain by replacing a good rad
Mine works too good at times. I had to put a thermostatic fan switch to keep the fan off until the temps had a chance to creep up. There were times I could not get the engine above 170-175 on cool days because the fan was pulling that cool air through.
I've got the griffin radiator as well and in 100 deg temp it holds at 185 in stop and go.Mine is the cross flow not the down flow design.
I have a Griffin direct replacement with an electric fan. I've had it out in high 90˚ temps with no problems keeping it running between 170 - 185˚. I also have 10/1 compression.
How difficult was it to mount your radiator? Do you happen to have any pics? That's a really good price for a 2row aluminum...Thanks...
i cant tell.. its a secret.. it is so secret in fact, nobody has been able to take a picture of it yet
UPS just delivered my radiator. I like the looks of it but there maybe a problem. It has the small inlet and outlets for the 6 cyl. If i remember right i bought a 6 cyl radiator off ebay one time and could not find hoses to fit on my 302. If anyone has any info on hoses please let me know. Also it has stamped MADE IN CHINA on the box. ray
I also have the Griffin cross-flow. I think 2 core. It was sold as "Summit Circle Track Aluminum Radiator" and had absolutely no mounting tabs or accessories. Had to fab that all up myself. If i did it again, I would pay the extra for a direct fit and not have to mess with all the fab and re-fab...
since you got it off ebay, look back on there for stainless steel hoses and get their universal hoses anywhere from 15 to 40 dollars, you can bend them to fit, and they (most) come with different end pieces like 1 1/4" 1 1/2" and 1/3/4" to fit your needs. I just returned my radiator back to those guys, i bought one back in october for the 302, it said it was 2 rows, but was only one...it didn't sufficiently cool my 347 with 10.0 :1 compression. The 1 row doesn't hold enough coolant. Has the airflow though.
I spoke with another company using the same china made radiators, the quality actually seems ok, but, being 1 row, it didn't suit my cars needs. The other company selling the exact same radiators for the direct fit, said they couldn't get 2 rows anytime soon.
