just wanted to get some input from everyone. im not real sure on which direction i wanna go with my 351 build. dont know if i wanna go with a mild street beater, stout weekend warrior and just go for it and build a stroker motor. also looking for pro's and con's on all issues so feel free to voice ur opinion, that's what im looking for! :thumbs2:

    i voted beast... but, conservative

i would say build it up with a big cam, heads, EFI maybe? but keep it short of crazy.. that way it will last a long time and get better gas mileage than a stroker.. etc..
and you can still enjoy it doing standing burnouts for hours at a time :)

I'd stroke it and still keep it mild. Hugh torq, good drivability=fun car to drive and easy to maintain. Btw the crank is only A couple hundred bucks to stroke it to 396.

Build a stroker 408 it will last a long time not that expensive depending on what parts you have and choose to use. You would be surprised what a mild combination would produce.

I wanted something 'between' beast and mild...
    I voted beast though.

No matter how you do it, do a 393.
Even on a stock rebuild, the cost is so good, you can't really pass it up.

How much of a budget do you have? That's the first question.

I told you to send it up here and save your money jk:biglaugh: The big question is what do you want to do with it. Street car, strip car, street & strip, or what. that would be a big factor. If it is going to be a street car rebuild it with a small cam just for the rum pity rum and drive the h#@! out of it. If its going to be a street & strip car small stroker, or strip only the biggest baddest thing you can build and make hook up. But if I were you I would build a stroker. Then you could play at the track and have a streetable car to. :thumbs2:

that's what im thinking. maybe just a 'mild stroker' if there is such a thing. thinking maybe a 393, around a .508 lift cam with 218 duration, ported '69 heads or windsor sr heads (found a set of sr.'s for $750), and maybe the Ford Racing aluminum intake. with this i should be good to 6000-6500 rpm's which would make it perfect for the street and strip both. what'cha think? btw, if u was closer i could get you a windsor for $50 :D
