Florida is just Dixie on the technicality that it's in the south east. As far as I'm concerned, we can just break Florida off and stick it over there with California. Other then that, any state that doesn't directly border Georgia is wannabe Dixie.

Nope. West Virginia, Kentucky, and Missouri did not join the CSA nor did they side with the Union. There were only 11 states that formed the CSA with Richmond, Virginia being the first capital. The historic, southern definition of Dixie is the 11 states that fromed the CSA.

In my previous posts, I only defined what is considered Dixie. It is primarily a geographic region. But it is also an attitude of where the old fashioned virtues and love of God, country, and family come before anything else and we say "yes sir" and "no ma'am," and everybody is welcome at the dinner table. Every Maverick and Comet lover is welcome at the Dixie Maverick mini-meet and I'm sure all that come will want to become a Sotherner and stay in Dixie Maverick Land. :yup:

    Entry Fees (Spectator):
    Friday....$10
    Saturday....$25
    Sunday....$25
    Sat & Sun....$35

    Entry Fees (Participants):
    Car Show (1 Day)....$35
    car Show (2 Days)....$45
    Swap Met....$50**

If you DO NOT WANT TO BE IN CAR SHOW you would pay SPECTATOR prices ... otherwise ... you would pay PARTICIPANT prices.

Dan; do they have a 'display only' catagory, like they did before? I would hate to have tp pay to be in the show, if I am not wanting to enter. Could you check on it and see? Thanks,

Earl ... I don't recall the prices being any different in previous years. The minimum amount to get your body through the gate at FFW is $25. They are doing us a favor and letting us bring our Mavericks inside the gate for the same $25 .... If you are entering you car in the car show and pyaing the extra $10 ... there is no additional benefit since you car would have been inside the gate anyway.

I told them a couple of years ago at the gate that I was just parking with the Maverick group and didn't want to enter my car in the show for judging. They just charged me the spectator fee and away we went.

Well, I am I being disowned from the Maverick family? :D I'm pretty sure the car is not going to be ready yet, too much to do and not enough time:(. With the loss of my helper around here, I've got more to do and not enough time to do it all.
