When I buy a front sump pan what all do I need besides the pan itself?

Don't waste your time and money on that intake. The starting bid is about all it's worth, For a front sump pan, you'll need the matching pickup tube too. New pickup tubes can be had at your local parts house

That intake is off one of the 83-84 mustang gt's just before they put fuel injection on the 302. It is modeled after a holley intake (infact it is rumored they were made by holley) I have used them and they are not bad as long as you seal up the EGR gap (I welded the last one up and it worked better than stock) if you are really budgeted it is not a bad intake for daily driver but you won't be pulling 9's off of it, oh and they came stock with holley 600 cfm or 650 cfm carbs (don't know for sure so please don't quote me on it) from the factory but you can fit any standard square bore carb on it. Just don't get one too big for only a slightly modified motor a 650 cfm carb is enough a 750 is usally too big (at my altitude atleast)

Halebopp - not trying to hijack the thread, but I think this is good place to reply b/c we talked about it earlier.

I looked at Rick Book's pics and he's got a good solution to the EFI intake plenum and shock tower brace clearance problem.

No problem, the more input I get the better i can make informed descisions , but one thing I am hearing is that it is very expensive to retain the EFI set up. The other thing I haven't got a clue what all I would need to buy. One thing though , I confirmed witht the guy it is still a go for delivering these 2 motors Saturday, I am not sure if I can post picts or not, I haven't gotten my membership sent to Stefan yet.
But what I could do is take picts of both motors and everything I end up with, then maybe I can get a list of things I need to retain the EFI, and compare cost for that to doing the Carb set up, then decide which way seems best for me.

I don't think it's expensive to retain the efi, just a PITA as far as the wiring is concerned. There are a couple of websites out there that give you conversion wiring diagrams, in fact I have thought about doing it maybe next year. Painless also sells a wiring harness special for this application. Carbs are just easier to install, but efi would be nice to do if you don't mind the wiring.

See I was told it was easy if you had a donor car with the original harness, ECU, etc. It was only a few wires. Why do you need to buy a painless harness if you have the original? I've got a donor car and will be trying this someday. :bouncy:

Yeah you wouldn't need the painless harness if you had the original.

Yeah you'd need the wiring harness from under the hood that connects all engine sensors, injectors, distributor, etc... and trace that all the way into the car where the ECU is located and remove the whole wiring harness from the ECU forward.

Sometimes it is just mounted up under the dash too (not under the kick panel).

Alright Guys here's the info I have right now that I should try to get

    EFI wiring harness
Basically anything currently attached to the motor, injection pieces fuel rails sensors etc
    efi upper and lower intake
the black MAP sensor from the firewall.
the computer, the computer harness, and the fuel injector harness, as well as the o2 sensor harness.
the air tubing and air filter box too.... also need the distributor, along with the module bolted to the side of it.
fuel pump relay It's located under the dr seat

    Anyone see anything missed?

    Thanks to Jeremy, Eddie, Rando
