We drove about half an hour and water blew up from intake straight to windshield. What is that in the picture? http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y160/Papillon83/intake.jpg?t=1209842652
i think thats where the water temp. sensor goes? i could be wrong. but you should just be able to plug it up either way. find a bolt that fits the hole
I really don't know what that is. Should we just plug it or not? I think that block is from sixties and intake is from eighties Marquis. When we stopped, water was coming out from that point. I think the pressure is same in that hole and in water pump. It was quite a rusty shower. We tried to put more water to radiator but all the water was coming out of that point(engine was off).
It's not even easy to find a bolt that fits the hole. I know that is hard to believe but we live in Finland.
go to a ...plumbing supply...store and get a ...male pipe plug... take that thing out of the intake and take it with you...that way you can get the correct size plug... Frank...
Not real sure on Finland,,,, You all have pipe threads or is it metric?? If you all have only metric, measure the bore and we can send one from here.
good thinkin dktuck i just thought of something...what was plugging the hole so you could drive as far as you did...before it leaked? ...Frank...
In a pinch, you can take a short length of hose that will fit over that nipple and hose clamp it on. Now put a tight fitting bolt into the other end of the hose and hose clamp it in. You have an emergency patch until you can find a pipe plug to put in place of the nipple.
Plug it ... nothing should be run in the rear of the engine. The PVS valve next to it is supposed to be up in the front of the engine with vacuum tubes to your distributor ...
We have no idea. We drove the car about 7 miles and no water leaking. But when i slammed the gas pretty hard it took about 3 seconds and then water to the windshield.
maybe it had...heat activated...vac. ports(smog) that got cracked and when it heated up...broke off... ...Frank...
