i just installed my new "Moog K8785" rear spring bushings in my JCW 4 leaf springs...:thumbs2:

could someone tell me the correct way to tighten the nuts?
    (I know...righty tighty, lefty loosey) :D
if i go all the way to the shoulder on the pin the bushings are smashed out of shape. they don't have a locking nut so i can't stop at any point on the threads.
i was thinking i might have the wrong shackles for the springs...:yup:
could someone give me a measurement of the shackle...overall and the bushing mounting surface?
the bushings i removed were smashed all to pieces. i'm thinking they were too tight...(2 yrs. old)
    thanks...:Handshake

I used the ones for AK, I just tightened them till they stopped, then torqued them, mine aren't all squished out.

The original shackles were threaded to where you tightened them up as much as you could. Then they were correct. Maybe the Moog bushings have a larger shoulder on them.

I think I just tightened mine down until they were uniformly squished ...

    I did the same thing.

By the way Dave Boyer.....nice exhaust set-up. I really like the hanger set-up.

doing it that way the bushing will be on the threads and the plate will have the 1/2" hole riding on the 3/8" threads.the outside plate is made to go over the shoulder. i think the nuts were made to bottom out on the shoulder...that way they would have a uniform stop. if you get squish before you get there, the shackle studs are too short... JMO :yup:

The outer shackle cap bottoms out against he shoulder and the nut tightens against that.

I have some loose ones out in the garage, they fit like Dennis said, once the nut is run in tight, it's pushing the cap against the stud, and its bottomed out.
I looked up the MOOG part number in a few different places, and it comes up K8785 every time.
