I have several things that I have considered and am looking for a little clarification. First I have read that you can put a 5 lugs on the back of a four lug car as long as they are both 8"(correct me if I am wrong). Second, if I stay with the 4 bolt pattern, where can I get some muscle/modern looking wheels(I can't find nice 4 lugs). And lastly, i have noticed that fox body mustangs have the 4 bolt pattern in the front as well as discs, and i was curious to see if anyone has done that and how well it works.
if you want a 5 lug rear you'll need the whole axle housing out from under the car. fox body stuff is entierly diffrent then anything that will fit on your maverick while we're on the subject. whats the bolt pattern for 4 lug mavericks? im looking for a spare tire for my 72?
i didnt know the 74's were unique? whats diffrent about them? i thought they were still drums that year but standard 5 lug?
74 was the first year for the front disc option. First year for 5 lugs on all Mavs too. I am not sure about the differences of the 74, someone else will have to chime in... However, I thought I heard they were based on Stang2 calipers.
I have parted out two 1974 with disc brakes and they are the same as 1975-1977 disc brakes. I think the "difference" is an urban legend started by some Ford Factory materials out there.
