I've been looking at a few different companies to get a back half kit from and would like to know who's backhalfed their car and what company they went with and how the install was. Just all the good and bad things about each company. Right now i'm leaning towards the CAChassisworks kit.
back half kit Im useing a chassisworks kit for my mav. nise bends. good tech support . desided to get front frame also . make it a chassis car . had chassisworks weld both clips well worth extra cash if you go with them ask about package deals save some cash that way learn frommy mistake need to start assembly cleveland powerd now if i just get a killer deal on a lenco life would be great . my 2 cents. good luck on your build . mike s
Chassisworks is good. S&W is good. Bickel might have something, and possibly SKRC (skinny kid race cars). If you can find some place local, you can save yourself a couple hundred in shipping.
Mavman can tell you all about it. Used a weld up kit from Pulley engineering which is no longer in business because of a death of one of the owners. Plumb bob, square, long level and a good sense of math and measuring is helpful. If you are building a drag car, the floor must be cut for connection to the front frame rails and for a street car, without roll cage, is not to bad. Tub's and shortned 9inch with correct wheels and tires, takes some figuring first. The four link and associated parts, need to be figured in too. Lot's of cutting and welding, along with cursing and gnashing of teeth, will be common place. The end result's is a whole lot better than leaf springs and shock's. instant center and pinion angle will have to be calculated but adjustments for improving thing's, is endless.
Thanks for the info guys. This is going to be a pro street (ish) car. I've built a dart blocked clevor and i just got a powerglide so i'm thinking my next project will be a front end kit from RC motorsports and then on to the backhalf. I have confidence that I can figure out and cut/weld all of the components.
