With the number of members here, there may be enough to populate and maintain a maverick wiki...... i think it may be a better way to organize and update information that is presented here.

granted, i've never ran one, or set one up, so i have no idea what the server and space requirements are... but it could be another excuse not to work on my car.

You mean T.L. finally quit replacing our link with the one from his nearly non-existant site? LOL

He doesn't mean a Wikipedia article, but a full-on Wiki site. We could all work to build a knowledge base, articles, link specific data to their relevant threads on here, make it part of the maverick.to site, not a competitor to it. It's a great way to store, edit, search and create information. For instance, say I do a basic writeup on installing a rearend or something. Somebody else comes in behind me after they've followed it, they add or correct things. Maybe somebody else did it and took pics, somebody else comes in and adds part numbers. (Then somebody replaces the whole thing with a viagara ad or otherwise FUBARs the whole thing, and I can revert it to a previous version.)

Anybody with a user account can edit any entry or make new ones. Moderators clean it up, delete any spam or vandalism, just like they do on a message board.

As for setting one up, I have a web server and I've set up wiki sites before. I'm good with CSS coding and can tie the design of that site in visually with this one, making it pretty seamless. And if Stefan is interested, he can put it in his DNS and I'll make him a full admin of it to do with as he wants. We'd end up with a a URL something like wiki.maverick.to, just like mmb.maverick.to and www.maverick.to and it's literally a part of this site.

And I'll donate the server space and my time. How 'bout it T-bo?

I've been wanting to setup a wiki for a while now and found a wiki that integrates with the forum. This integration would allow members to sign into the forum and create/edit wiki entries without having to create a new account with the wiki software.

Unfortunately, this wiki is no longer being worked on and does not work well with the latest version of this forum software. It was a nice product that had the feel of the forum and was supposedly easy to use.

There are other wiki softwares out there like wikipedia.org's mediwiki, but from my understanding, there is a learning curve to using it. Let me take a look at differnt wiki software and Ill update this thread.

Come on Don...I thought EVERYBODY knew what a Maverick wiki was. Lucky for us they only have them for small bumper cars though.
