I just rebuilt the whole front end with urethane and other new parts. Did the Shelby drop and upgraded the sway bar. The brakes are from Mustang Steve's if anyone was wondering. I have a set of Cobra calibers to go on next that will look good through the 17" Foose wheels. Hopefully in a few weeks the engine will be back in and I can finish getting the sheet metal painted.
Thanks for everybody's comments. I can't wait to finish her. I only get to work on it one day a week. If anybodies interested I posted some more shots in the gallery.
Wow, awesome pic's. Your doing a lot of the things I wanted to do, I had a set of those Foose wheels picked out 2 years ago, and I have a set of those Cobra brackets I bought off Ebay, I just had trouble finding the Cobra calipers, then changed my mind in the end, maybe I'll use them on my other Maverick. Keep us posted with your progress pic's!! I may be in New Port Richey in January, my aunt lives there.
I installed the PST kit so yes the strut rods are Polygraphite. I noticed a few people have had problems with this. Any suggestions on what I should replace them with?
I would just go with regular rubber strut rod bushings. Ought to be able to get them from most auto parts places. I put the PST kit in mine and had a strut rod break going over a speed bump at 5 mph! ... glad it didn't happen at 50 mph ... the car pulled an immediate hard left, pulled the steering wheel right out of my hands... would have been directly into oncoming traffic. In looking at the strut rod afterwards, it had a crack halfway through it where the threads met the solid part of the rod. There was rust inside the crack, so it was there for a while before it let loose, but it broke within a year of installing the poly bushings. The PST kit is big improvement for the front end otherwise.
