Hello all, i am in the Army and am currently stationed @ Ft. Stewart, GA but will be transferring to Ft. Gordon near Augusta, GA sometime in June. I get to go back to the states in about a month, YEA!

Anyway my first car was a 72 Maverick and I have always missed having it. My sister got t-boned by a bus in it. No worries, she was fine, but the car didn't make it. My wife's car first was also a 72 Maverick, albeit a 4 door, but still that was kinda cool to find out after we had been married for sometime.

We recently started the idea of a project car and what could more perfect than a Maverick? Not much ;) After doing some research I discovered that my car was actually a '72 Sprint. I would love to find another one like it, but will probably start looking for a '69 or '70.

Anyway, thanks for listening to this babble :) I will probably become a regular visitor to this site and my from time to time attempt ask a few questions.

Thanks for having such a great site!

Wow, that's quite a bit 'o feedback in a short time. Wasn't really expecting all that. :)

I will be getting back to the states in early December, then i have the holidays to contend with. I will probably start making serious offers around the middle of January.

I will only be Ft. Gordon from June to December then who knows where. I figure if i am going to do it, then i just need to get it done. However, mid to late January is the best i can promise for anything serious at this point.

My plan to completely strip the body down to bare metal and to do a complete buildup from that. Yes I know it is more than a mountain if work, but in the end taking that kinda of time is worth it. I have plans for a few items that will also need to be custom fabricated for the project. This project has been on my mind for a little more than a year now and while I still have some points to work out, most of the planning stages are already complete.

Thanks again for all the great feedback :D Seems I found the right place to start looking for what I need :D
