Hammer out all my suspension details. Get AC working by Spring time(Phoenix is like Hell in summer, lol). Get rest of interior completed. Make the conversion from 4 lug & drum brakes to 5 lug & disc brakes. Hopefully, that won't be too bad for me.
The way things are in the economy I'm kinda timid about spending $ on the car. I'm hoping the V8 swap that I'm getting done will work out fine so I can drive her around. For 2009: -waterproof the car (somehow), no more sitting in a puddle for me -new tires -brake upgrade (do it myself)
I'm hoping to finally get my car painted in 2009. It should've been done this past summer, but my guy's been putting me off. I might just end up doing it myself, like every other time. Once it's finally painted it's going up for sale. It'll probably be the last Maverick I own. All the money I've put in this car, I could've built 3 Mustangs or 5 Chevys!
But then you'll be like everybody else. How many Mavericks do you see running around or at the car shows?
Attending 20 or so shows, I saw only 2 Mavericks this past year. And both of them belonged to Chris Moses and both were at the same show. I can add only 2 more Comets to the total.
I say sell it! If the car makes you that miserable.....build your mustang's or chevy's if that makes you happy. Whats the sense in having this as a hobby if you are not enjoying it! Good luck.
I`m going to fix my clutch on the 70. I never really liked the pedal feel with the old clutch. Might do a little more detailing on the 71 on the outside chrome. I want to try to get the 73 on the road cause I need a beater mav, its nice to have one for a daily driver ripper go do a burnout (on a back road) after a hard days work to put a smile on your face. And maybe have 3 mavs at the same show this yr.
John when you put it that way........ ya, maybe he should sell it and someone who wants a Maverick could enjoy the car............. good point!
15" rims, last bit of rust removal and hole patching, 3rd brake light, full paint strip, primer, paint, seal the cowl off, and do a complete engine tuneup. I have a bigger list, but if I can pull just these off I'll be happy. I haven't changed my plans because of the economy, but I have lowered my expectations a bit.
Engine swap, exhaust, insulation, and a complete interior I'm tired of driving around with only one seat
