I wonder why there are no CAMEO guys hanging on this site. They have some really nice cars and I would like thier input on some of the mods they did

The times that I have met and and spoken with Cameo club members they act as if they have never heard of or seen this board ...I find that hard to believe coming from anyone who has internet access and is a Maverick/Comet enthusiast.

I invited them to visit the board when I met a couple of them at Power tour 2006,
    they showed No interest.

they are (for the most part) a pretty tight group. they don't do alot of shows or cruises. they show up at silver springs and the power tour regularly. chip started the club with his family and it grew from there. don't be put off if they seem unfreindly, they just take time to get to know and understand. they really are very nice people. one of the best looking upgrades chip does on his cars is to close the cowl over. it stops the rust issue and looks killer. if you look close most of his cars have this mod. his son in law also drives the blue comet that someone put a ton of work into louvering the hood.

    Hi'ya Group !
First time on here in awhile but I'd like to clear something up. I have no anomosity towards any other Maverick/Comet associations or individuals that I've met either in person or online .
Its all about the cars as far as I'm concerned and I try to focus my attention on "Restomods" of these neat little cars. A lot of the folks I've met are in to numbers matching .. o.k. by me , others are into making them beautiful , o.k. again .,Still others want their cars to be mini "rockets" .. definitely o.k. by me again. Also there are those of us who want it ALL ... which I personally feel is the way to go ..ha.
I don't want to disturb the body lines of a Maverick or Comet from their original design .. I think FORD knew what they were doing there.. I just like to "pump up" the power , and modernize the drive train to its optimum. Also a great paint job and interior are also very important to me. I think that I've just described about 99% per cent of the people that I've met that drive and own these great little cars.I have met a lot of nice folks..(Dennis Martin , Russ and Fran Martin )-(no relation) , and others from another Comet / Maverick club and they were very cordial and also helpful with information we shared about our cars. I really don't remember "acting" like I never heard of the other clubs.. ( how do you do that anyway ? ha ) Of course I've heard of them , and read this forum when I can get to it..which is infrequently. Just for the record folks... I love these cars , and I'll help others in whatever way I can if asked . CAMEO ,Inc. Deland, Florida .. Chip Crenshaw

Fuel Injection on a 347 Stroker, and a 427 Stroker , custom headers , Mustang 11 front ends, Camaro brake calipers with our own mounting brackets..(they work better)
Air conditioning updates (Vintage Air Systems) .. Cowl Seals Compass,Temperature, self dimming mirrors) Electric Windows .. Automatic Overdrive transmissions.. AOD tranny mounts .. Griffin Radiators and mounts, Shock Tower Removals..Mustang back up lights..Dual brake and taillights for Comets ..etc. I'd be glad to assist in any way I could. Chip

I'd like to say that I had the opportunity to meet Chip and some of his family this weekend at Silver Springs. You couldn't meet a nicer guy. He and the Cameo guys have some very nice cars and I look forward to finding out more about some of those mods that were mentioned. I also can't wait for the next Silver Springs show. My wife and I have decided that we want to make that a yearly vacation. It is a beautiful place with more cars that you have time to look at. Thanks again to all of the Florida guys and their hospitality. :Handshake

You Also met Frank (71gold) ,And I at the 2006 Power tour in Perry Ga.

    http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=23987&highlight=power+tour

We checked out yours and your buddies cars and spoke with you about this site, explaining that its the largest Maverick/ Comet site on the `net with a lot of members....You both said that you "might" have been here
before. Your 3 posts since joining in 02-08 shows your interest(Ironically the same month you became a dealer for Joe`s parts.) We pointed over in the direction or our cars and explained where they were and ya`ll said "ok".

We both went on our way thinking that although you guys were nice,
You seemed to be Into your own group (to each his own) and not very interested in Our cars ,or this site.( I know this isn`t THE only site as I frequent other sites devoted to these cars too.)

    No hard feelings. :Welcome:
