glad to hear they got rid of the one time fee. i would have to hear that part about the ref clearing you to remain bi yearly from the BAR however because they were the ones that told me that would be one of the consequences. not that it matters to me all that much now though. for the cats i would suggest just getting high flow racing cats like a lot of cali guys run instead of pulling them on and off. just my .02

I'll bet you could find a '70-'74 VIN and title on here pretty easy.

Opps, did I say that out loud. Gotta love California, not.

No you just need to transcribe the vin number from the title over too the car you have. Also if we had to match the color there are alot of expensive paint jobs that would have to be redont :bouncy:

the smog law here says that if the car was equiped with single exhast with one cat then that is what it has to have. you cant add dual exhast with two cats to the mav unless the engine swap came from a vehical that had duals. and a carb cant run the motor properly to ensure long cat. life. the cat needs a constant switching of lean to rich and back to properly function. a carb does not do this and would quickly clog up or melt down a modern cat.

    Guys!!!
As a smog tech in the early 70's there were two standards federal & calif.
Both fed. & calif. had cats smog pumps i don't know . Neberska would be under the fed standards . With the new standard in calif. to get the old junkers off the road ( there words not mine the calif air board ) in opioin the best way to get it legal in calif. is to EFI with a cat smog pump or leave it title in neb.

if you have a friend or famiely that will let you keep use there address for your registration then you can do it. as long as they dont have a anual or bi anual vehical inspection of some kind.

no inspection of any kind here in nebraska...
and my girlfriend's parents live here...
so i guess i'm just gonna do that.
i just need to change the adress on the registration for their adress and keep my name for the car? or do i need to technically sell the car to her parents?

    thanks!:bananaman
