im in the process of converting my maverick into a stickshift. 1) first thing id like to install is the clutch depal, can someone post a pic of where the clutch rod goes through the fire wall and a picture of where the rod is through on the engine bay? 2) can someone post a picture of where the frame side mount is supposed to be mounted? 3) how the Z bar is connected with other components? 4) where in the engine is the engine ball stud is mounted? 5) will a Inline 6 stick shift harness out of a maverick will work for a V8 maverick stick shift?
I second this question. I want to know that too. I saw this thread and said "that will be helpful". But no ones answerd so not to much help.
searched around already, especially in the article write up area... found no pictures. unless im searching with wrong key words
http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=42408 http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=5430 http://www.maverick.to/grabber/stickshift.html If your car was originally an automatic you will see a 2 inch hole cut in the outer sheet metal layer near the master cylinder .. the factory would have also cut a hole on the inner layer for a manual shifter car ... this is the hole the rod goes through to connect the pedal to the z-bar.
opps let me rephrase.... will a HARNESS out of original inline 6 motor maverick in manual work with a v8 maverick manual?
You talking about the harness for oil pressure, water temp, etc ??? You should get a V8 harness so everything is he correct length and location. Auto's and Manuals have same harness ...
