I like the 71's and 72's but am building a 74 for my daughter. Not decided if I'm going with small bumpers or a tucked big bumper. I have a feeling a tucked big bumper will be more realistic with a 16 year old girl driving it. lol

Glad I'm working on my car myself... to heck with big bumpers, my dad would probably wrap the whole car in bubble wrap about a dozen times. :biglaugh:

without Comet now just keeping in touch
Well talk about a hard decision:hmmm: , Well I currently own a '74 Comet, When I was in highschool the first car I drove was a huge '72 Newport, that was the car my parents let me take over payments on , to call my own, BUT The first car I ever picked out was mint condition '75 Maverick 4 door,(y) I didn't know it then but it must have had the LDO trim, it had a dark blue full vinyl top, over white with dark blue pin stripes, the leading edge of the Hood was painted dark blue as well, I have never seen one like it since, That car , by the way was totaled when a car ran through a red light with bad brakes. .. That car... you quessed it... a '71 Pinto:eek: , caught the front foot of my bumper and fender and moved the whole front end to the right about 6 inches.. wish I still had it. that car was my baby.. so I guess that is why I am fond of Big bumpers to this day. On my Comet I plan to slide the bumper back so it doesn't protrude so far forward.
When I was in 7th grade Mom had a black vinyl over green 71 2 door, with a 302, I still remember when Dad got a little crazy and did Brake stand in the Sears parking lot.... ( I still smell the burning rubber).. Mom remembers the burned out tranny:mad: ... She replaced it with .... a Subaru.:slap: ... Wish I had that Maverick!!

I like the stripes and tu tone paint on the '74 Grabber. Also like the hood on the earler Grabbers. I like the hood scoop on the Comet GT.
