I found a fake Maverick concept picture on a Brazilian blog. The following are artist's comments, translated using google

It definetly has that European look from the late 70s/early 80s.

Interesting! Definitely looks like something you would see on the streets in the 80s.

It looks perfect for the 80's! I like it but I wonder what everyone would have said about the bumpers!

I might catch some grief for this, but I think those bumpers look nicer/better integrated into the body than the 74-77 bumpers. :hide:

Looks a bit F-150'ish with the grille and wheel covers

I figured it would have hatchbacked by the 80s like everything else did.
That concept needs a third door(hatchback), dechroming, an offset louvered grill on the hood and hidden wipers. Maybe a colorful TURBO graphic down the side.

I am with Ray it does look like a F150. Thank goodness they stopped production before that concept came around. Of course that is only my humble opinion!!!!

It just needs a turbo 2.3 and some early escort GT styled stripes. :yup:

I like it from the A-pillars back...minus the door handles, mirrors, and rear bumper...I would do a bumper/mirror/door handle/front end swap!!! Then it would be awesome!!!:rofl2:

Argentine Ford engineers are the people you want to sell the same old (and cool) car for 3 decades.

Honestly, I'd have loved if Ford of Mexico had done that kind of thing with the Maverick. Keeping the same old body with minor restylings and adding modern drivetrains at a reasonable price.
