Well, apparently, they didn't upgrade their steering...watch that guy in the second video. He is doing all he can to keep that car on the road. I don't steer my truck that much in the 40 miles I drive to work, and yet, he is having to constantly steer to keep it on the road.

Ford steering systems suck. He should have put in a better steering system before he tried to race that car on that narrow road.

geez, that guy on the 2nd vid must be having fun with that manual stick shift, he got the contol of his car on his hand. seeing these just boost up my motivation on completing a manual swap.:thumbs2:

Looks like normal steering that is required when there is power on tap and traction is limited... On your way to work, are you drifting around curves, or just driving normally? IMO, the car seems to handle pretty well from the looks of it.

A nice Maverick goes for over $20,000 in Brazil. Parts and cars are much more difficult to come by there then here. Everything is more expensive.

Definitely seems to have some excess slack in the steering. Kinda scary on that hilly road.

Either way it was fun to watch and when it comes to the Porsche thing i have to admit i could care less about a Porsche, just not that interesting and yes i would rather a bunch of Mavericks and Comets instead. Maybe a nice stationwagon Maverick from Brazil to restore.:yup:

As far as driving goes, the driver in the first vid is the one who has me worried lol.

Wow... I think I was more on the edge of my seat in the first one (ever seen drivers in India and Israel?... thank god I live in North America)....

there were 3-4 pretty hairy moments in the 2nd vid but it looked to me like the guy was driving pretty good and the car was setup pretty good. Cam shots (too bad about all the blinding sunshine) don't show the sense of speed but a windy road course with real trees on both sides will make a driver very jittery hence all the excessive steering wheel play.

Do 50 laps on an open race track with predictable turns and he would probably steer much less. You hear the car bounce and leave the road a few times... looked scary and fun to me.

Yup - guy has big sweaty ones I'll bet... if that car's worth 15,000 up here it's worth 30,000 down there.

    WHiskeee

Ah, that second video is nothing. Come for a ride with me across Blood Mountain on 19/129 here in GA. I'll scare the crap out of you. :D I go across there all the time, a newer BMW could not get away from me a few weeks ago, and I was in my '72... :rofl2: Few hairpin corners and all kinds of fun up in there.
