70 degrees today....time to wake a few of my cars from hibernation. Some needed a jumb start, some needed some starter fluid, and some fired right up!! Fired up and drove: - 1968 Ford Torino Formal Roof - 1977 Mercury Comet 2-door - 1976 Ford Maverick 4-door - 1974 Ford Maverick Grabber Only one I did not "wake up" was my 1972 Grabber. Maybe tomorrow or next week on that.
It was great in Northeast Pennsylvania today. Way up in the 60's. Worked on the Maverick for a while with the garage doors open then I actually got to go to a car show in March. It was inside a National Guard Armory but the famous "1 of 4" blue Comet GT was in attendance. :bananaman
you cant feel 99% of the earthquakes the last big earthquake was in 94 and it didn't affect the area that i live in, i'll take earthquakes over tornadoes and hurricanes any day. plus we have beaches, lakes, snowy mountains, drag strips, sand dunes within a 30minute range
In the high 40's here today. Will be getting snow tonight & tomorrow. Where the heck is Spring? Got my 73 Comet started & took it for a spin yesterday (Temp was in the 60's).....
It was 71 here today, and I took advantage of it myself! Started out with a BFH and worked on my warped water pump pulley. After I got it straightened out, I took off the damaged electric fan, remounted the alternator, and put on a 5 blade Ford flex fan. Then I installed a thermostat [never had one in it before], and sealed up the chrome water neck leak. Drove it to the local wishy washy, and sprayed the bird poop off. Found out where my leaks, were, both windsheild and back glass gaskets are leaking at the top, they will be replaced when I do the headliner after the paint goes on. Then put the battery charger on the Geo Tracker for a bit. Cranked the motor home and moved it about 20 feet. Went back and cranked the Geo, drove it down in the woods to get a few boards stored down there. Didn't get around to cranking the 84 4X4, going to pull it up on the concrete pad in a week or two and fix the brakes and steering column. Charged the battery on one of the John Deere mowers, but didn't crank it, either. Now that DSL starts tonight, I'll be out in the yard or garage until dark thirty! I love spring! yahoo:
It was in the 70's today. We sold a 48 chevy truck so I have some money for the maverick. We delivered it and he had some cool 4x4 buggies. I also put a new oil pump on my motor and bolted on the timing cover and water pump. Tomorrow I am going to buy a new water pump and fuel pump. I hope to get the motor and tranny in the car tomorrow
