i have my motor in and buttoned up ready to go...everything but the washer bottle installed.
i cranked on the engine and not a pop...:hmmm:
could it be because the washer bottle is not installed and plugged in? is there a loop that the start wire has to go through to crank and the washer bottle plug is part of that loop?
the motor in it before ran but the washer bottle plug was pulgged in.

i have gas at the carb, fire at the coil and the dist. is in time...(y)
...and if i install the washer bottle and plug it in and it still doesn't crank...could it be a bad washer bottle plug or a leak in the bottle being the reason for still no start. if i should suspect i need a new washer bottle does anyone have one i can borrow (know good) to check and see if mine is bad?...and, how is the best way to trobleshoot a bad washer bottle?
i hope it's the washer bottle and not something else...:yup:
that parts car i was looking at Fri. had a washer bottle on it that looked pretty good, i should have gotten it. i will pull all of them from now on..:yup:
i can take some pics. of where the washer bottle will be mounted if anyone needs them to help with this.
...thanks for any help or comments...:Handshake

    Yo Friend Frank...

I vote it is something else, washer bottle unplugged is not going to keep the car from starting. How about neutral safety switch or starter wire

If the washer bottle is leaking then it could also be leaking voltage to the pushrod bearings and shorting everything out. My nextdoor neighbor's uncle's son-inlaw mothers sister had a car that had the same problem

If you have fuel and spark...it should run...unless you are doing this in a vacuum. Is the rotor good...is the cap good. How about the plugs themselves????(they may be wet with fuel from trying to start the engine)its possible your ingnition systems module/MSD box what ever you are useing may be at fault. The washer bottle pump is not in the start/run circuit...its on the accessory circuit...so it isnt the problem.Hope this helps you frank...Good luck!!!

I bet it's the washer bottle actually.

My motorcycle didn't run worth a crap til I installed one, and then it would FLY!

the washer bottle could be causing a polarshift in the flow of engery in the field of the power that is corsing through the design of the system that dictates the life of the beast.
or it could have nothing to do with the motor not starting. usually ignition timing is wrong if it wont start when you have spark and fuel. unless you forgot to put something important in the motor like the pistons, or cam, or crank, or rods, or motor.

The best way to diagnosis a bad washer bottle (I found) is the twelve step approach

Step 1. Go to store buy a 24 pack of the nastiest beer you can stand
Step 2. Start drinking/chugging as fast as you can
Step 3. Pass out after a while
Step 4. Wake up and pretend washer bottle is a urinal
    Step 5. Pass back out
Step 6. Hope washer bottle is not cracked because likely you will be laying in a pool of your own piss
Step 7. Wake up next day with a head ache
Step 8. Check yourself and the ground under car for dampness and a bad smell
Step 9. If it is still full plug in the electrical connector for the washer motor
Step 10. Ask a buddy to inspect the washer nozzles
Step 11. Hit the washer switch and give your buddy a golden shower
Step 12. Pray like hell it starts now cuz your buddy is gonna whip your ass!!

    :D

Do you have the correct fluid in the washer bottle?

Also, does your license plate light work with the headlight switch in the on position? You might want to check that too. :D
