    Greetings All,

I'm new here even though I join a week or so ago. I have a chance to buy a 69.5 Maverick in "little old lady" condition. It have a 200, auto, factory A/C, 125K miles. Of course, it needs a lot done to it. I have been lurking around here to learn more about Mavericks. My current project car is a ground up rebuild of a 1964 Falcon hardtop. Since the Mustang was born of the 64 Falcon, parts and mods are easy to get. So i have been trying to learn if the same is true for Mavericks.

I'm 46 and I have been rebuilding cars from the 60's since I was 15. In the beginning it was out of need. My first car was a 62 Nova so I learned to fix it or I stayed at home. Now it's just a hobby. I'am a computer engineer so it lets me get away from the high tech world.

The Maverick I'm considering I am trying to interest my youngest son. I got a 2000 Mustang for my oldest boy. A V6 and auto, it's a nice car for a 17yo. So now my yougest wants one. He gets his license in 1.5 years. my older son has counted 7 other Mustangs the same body sytle as his in the school parking lot. I'm trying to show my younger one that he would be the only Maverick at school.

Now that I've made this a long story, If I get my bonus in a couple of weeks I'll probably go get the car. I'll be building it for a teenager so I'll be asking a few questions about making it safer and more reliable.

It's a pleasure to meet you all,
    Ed

P.S. - I notice at least one other Falcon guy here. HI JEFF:yahoo:

The car would definately be a great father/son project, and be different at school for sure!

Get him a nice set of rims, and he won't get picked on either! lol

For the real old timers here. We did have an Alice here and it was a red 1970 Maverick from Washington State. I wonder what ever happened to her?

    :Welcome:

'nother GA guy! We have quite a few here, and have a big meet coming up next weekend. I drove a '74 Grabber in high school, and even though it was a run down POS, everyone loved that car. Most kids thought it was a Mustang.
