I just want to wish all you southern gents(and the rest of you) A great time. I am very happy to see you guys pull this off. The more maverick/comet noise is made the more our cars will get attention from mags/and manufactures. I am looking forward to the pictures.
My '72 just picked a hell of a time for the water pump to seize up. I noticed it making noise on the way to work this morning. On the way home, it locked up tight and fried my fan belt before I even had a chance to react.. I guess it's not bad though, I mean it is the original water pump on this engine from 1971... I thought I was screwed and going to have to drive the damn Nissan tomorrow, because the pump is special order at every auto parts store. But thankfully, and by some miracle, a buddy of mine still had one on a 170 he pulled out of a '66 Mustang he had a few years ago. The engine has been laying in his back yard for several years now, and was seized, but after some PB blaster and a couple of taps with a rubber mallet, the water pump turns freely. Working on getting it back together now, just keeping my fingers crossed this pump works alright at least for a few days. I'm back out the door... Car is still sitting on the side of I-985, just had to come home and get the "new" pump and some tools.
Jamie, sorry to hear about the pump...hope you get it straightened out... will see you tomorrow... Jeff, Nick, Dillon, John Ford and myself met up at Summit and then went to Baby Janes for supper... ...Jeff has a pic. of the gang... "a large time was had by all" we'll see ya'll tomorrow...Frank...
2:37 A.M., just got the car home. Man, changing a water pump on the side of an interstate with nothing but a cell phone for light is not much fun. But, the '72 and I will be there. I'll see you guys tomorrow, if not at breakfast, then I'll definitely be down at some point during the day if I oversleep. I'm going to bed.
