Dale and I had a fantastic time out at Carlisle this past Saturday. The turn out of Mavericks and Comets was a bit low this year. There were 8 Mavericks and 2 Comets on the showfield this year, but as always it was the people who make going to Carlisle worth attending. Many thanks go to Mavaholic, Nick Dominick ( AKA Ted Nugent :)), bmcdaniel, and Craig Selvey for the great conversation and countless good laughs. My apologies to those who stopped by the tent who's names I have forgotten or I didn't get. Hanging out with these good people is for us the highlight of the trip.
This year The All Fords Nationals were celebrating the 45th anniversary the Mustang, and judging from the number of Mustangs on the fairgrounds the event should have been called the All Mustangs Nationals. I don't know exactly how many cars and trucks were in attendence this year, but if there was 2000 vehicles there at least half or more of them were Mustangs. Like last year our little group of Mavericks and Comets were parked up on the hillside, which was OK because that's where all the good cars were parked.:D There was one Maverick in the Invitational Display building; the 1970 "Fast Eddie" Ford Maverick race car powered by a Boss 429. We did come across a 1977 brown two door Maverick for sale in the vendor area. It looked like a real clean, rust free car. The car was on a trailer with the hood down, so I don't know what engine it had. The sign said the car had 5110 miles and the asking price was $4850.
We weren't able to come back out Sunday to see anyone, so I hope everyone had a safe trip back home and Dale and I are already looking forward to seeing everyone again next year. :)

Sounds like a great time! (y) Did it rain this year? One of these years I will make it out there.

Saw the brown Maverick before all the other ones. That guy Reeealy wanted to sell that thing. Wandered around for 3 hours before I found the club area. By the time I got there my batteries in my camera were going dead and I had to run around like a madman to get some pictures. I chuckled to myself as I walked around reading the data thingers in the windows. Celebrities only known to me. Ooh! I know who that is! I talked to Craig for a split second to pick up my Haynes Manual. Wanted to talk to the rest of you guys but a conversation was already going and I'm a nervous dude. Plus I had to leave to get home in time to meet up with my wife on her way back from Maryland. First time I've ever gotten to go. Felt like I had been running up a mountain when I got home. Lots of walking. Those trams are tough as anything to find a way on to. Amazing to see all those Mavericks at once. Other than mine I've only seen about 2 other Mavericks and 2 Comets. Even got to see a Sprint. Did anyone there see the 80$ Maverick models/toys in the one vendor building? Glad I picked it up nice and slow to check the price. BTW did anyone see the car on a trailer a block away from gate 2? Looked like a Maverick customed to death. It was for sale but I only took a picture-didn't get close enough to peruse. Watch- it's probably not a Maverick at all. :hide::footinmouth:

:slap:I knew it as soon as I hit the submit button. I noticed the kind of "Bulge" near the roof line. :banghead: Is that a "Mustang" decal, though?

I'd say it looks like a 70 Stang to me.
