Curious Your radius rods, are they sticking out at the front? Actualy, what i'm wondering, is if there tight enough.
Gene...I agree with you but...What I wrote is ver-batum from the 72 ford maverick ford factory chassis manual.Soo... thats all I got to say about that.
"Radius rods"... Wassat? Are these what they also call "strut rods," the things up front with the massive rubber bushings? They seem tight, but how tight should they be?
Ok, I just thought I was wrong again Yea, same thing. It is actualy a strut rod, my bad. It doesn't specify in the book I have how tight, it just says to tighten after adjustment. I once had one that wasn't tight at all and it made noise and caused unstable steering. Was really bad hitting the brake tho. I tightened mine to where it looked like the bushings were squishing out slightly, kinda like shock bushings should be done.
Yeah I know man... Every other problem I've ever had with this car was just a matter of searching the MMB or asking the right question. That's what is so frustrating about this. Short of lining all you guys up and going for a ride around the block I really don't know how to describe what's happening. Here's another puzzle piece though - I'm getting a sound from that side occasionally that sounds just like brake pad rattle, but I know for a fact it's not brake pad rattle.
i know this in an old post but ball joint interchange, i know because i just buy upper and bolted in my lower. but my mav its a mexican mav so i don know if this its correct..here in mexico we do it that way we just replace the lower ball joint and put some prothane bushings thats last a long even on mexican roads that are pretty harsh
