I wanted to ask people who have had experience with superchargers which kit I should go with. I have never ran one and don't know as to all the other things I will need with it. I am still open to either a roots or centrifugal type supercharger and don't mind cutting up my hood. I will probably be wanting to put it on the stock 302 I have now and later transplant it to the 331. :drive:

Im sure my input is useless since i have no experience, but id say youll like a centrifugal setup but i personally really like the look and sound of a roots.

sounds to me that 1st you need to decide what you want,...then start researching where to get it.

everybody and their dog will tell you to run this brand, or that brand, based on what they either know ,or have heard. talk to a few different co.'s. see who you click with and who is just wanting to sell you something. prices are usually close but once you get into the details, then it will become clear what to use.(y)

I want a roots type blower from what I've researched so far. I need something I can put on the mav and still be able to commute and make a lot of power. Something I can use on the stock 302 now and later transplant onto the 331.

So there is a bigger selection than I thought. I ran across the Hampton Kit, Dyers kit, Weiand of course, BDS and Procharger.

The other thing that was recommended was using a better block like a Dart block.

There are several good Supercharger books out there, My advice would be to get one or more and read cover to cover, twice. Then you will be better equipped to make a decision. And no you don't need a Dart block, O-ringed heads, Head studs, ECT. I ran a stock block, headed motor for several years. ITS all in the TUNE, And if anyone tells you different, Chances are they have never had a blower or TUNED one. Most people i have found that tells you that you need this and that, Actually pay people to do their tuning. Start with low boost and a TO BIG carburetor and some kind of timing control and you will love life. Listen to the people that has never tuned one and i promise you will think blowers suck. As for as size, Answer this. HOW fast you want to go, and how much you want to spend. All Blowers have their good and bad, Just get the books and you will be better informed on your decision. If i can help you any way i will. Just pm and we can go from there.

That's really good advice and I'm sure I'll have more specific questions after I do more reading. I'll answer your quesion after I read one of those books. Is there a book that you'd recommend? I think I saw one that looked interesting at the book store.
